Named for it's location, Kattie's
Coastal Alpacas is only minutes from the beach. With
25 acres nestled in the Coastal Mountain Range and a
river running through it, this picturesque farm is a
perfect home for Robert, Kattie and their 26 alpacas.
The dream began in 1994 when Kattie and her first
husband, Butch, looked into raising animals for
profit. First they looked at emus, but the emus just
weren't cute enough.
Then they discovered alpacas. The babies (cria) were
soft and adorable. The alpaca had such incredible
personalities that Butch and Kattie were won over.
Who could resist?!?!
So Kattie and Butch purchased 25 acres of
land, built a temporary barn and some pens and
brought home three beautiful alpacas. Kattie and
Butch lived in their 35 5th wheel trailer while
they built the alpaca farm of their dreams.
The dream was sadly altered on February 1999, when
Butch died in a tragic ATV accident. The alpaca were
a great comfort for Kattie while she continued to
work on building the farm on her own.
In 2001, Kattie had the good fortune to meet Robert
Munsell. A skill-worker and gifted craftman (see
Custom Wrought Iron) Robert has become both Kattie's
husband and the manager of their farm. Robert is
fascinated with world of alpaca. He loves to take
them to shows and share information about the animals
with school groups that come to the farm.
Kattie's Coastal Alpacas now boasts 26 animals in a
variety of colors. Please see the sales list for
pictures of some of these incredibly cute alpacas.
With two blue ribbon winning Herd Sires, the farm

correctness.
